We are a climate tech start-up located at the heart of Brussels looking for an ambitious and motivated person to help us build and grow.
At Tapio, the Carbon Expert intern will work directly with clients, conducting comprehensive carbon assessments, and leading workshops and training sessions. This hands-on role is designed to equip clients with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively manage and reduce their carbon footprint.

What you’ll do in a few words
Carbon Consulting:
- Assist in evaluating and reducing clients’ carbon emissions, with guidance from senior consultants.
- Participate in facilitating climate workshops (e.g., Climate Fresk, Puzzle Climat) to raise awareness among stakeholders.
- Support client engagement through presentations, Q&A sessions, and follow-ups, with mentorship from the team.
Product Support:
- Contribute to testing new features and prototypes for the Tapio platform, providing constructive feedback.
- Help update and manage data sets, including emissions factors and templates, while learning key processes.
- Support the development of new tools and templates to optimize client workflows.
Training and Partnerships:
- Assist in onboarding and training clients and partners on the Tapio platform, with team support.
- Collaborate on creating educational materials (e.g., guides, e-learning modules) for clients and partners.
- Participate in ongoing learning initiatives to stay updated on carbon methodologies and sustainability practices.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the tech, product, and sales teams to enhance the client experience.
- Support cross-functional projects and contribute ideas for improving tools and processes.

We are looking for someone:
- Aware and sensitive to climate issues, with a strong motivation to contribute to impactful solutions. Autonomous, and able to take initiative
- Eager to learn and grow, with a proactive and curious mindset, ready to develop their skills in carbon management and sustainability.
- A team player with a collaborative approach, while also being autonomous and able to take initiative.
- Rigorous and organized, capable of managing tasks with attention to detail and excellence.
- A tech enthusiast, interested in leveraging tools and systems for climate action.
- Passionate about sustainability and carbon management, with a desire to make a tangible impact on the environment.
We’d love to hear from you if you have
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in a discipline related to sustainable development, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- Some experience in sustainability or climate-related projects, through internships, studies, or entry-level positions (no minimum years required).
- Good knowledge or willingness to learn about international carbon standards and systems, such as the GHG Protocol, Bilan Carbone, and Science-Based Targets (SBTi).
- Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and verbal).
- Fluent in Dutch.
- A strong desire to learn by doing and to grow in a dynamic start-up environment.
- Comfortable working with data and analysis, or open to developing these skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Affinity with green technologies and carbon responsibility.
- An ability to think creatively and strategically, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Familiarity with greenhouse gas calculation tools (GHG protocol, Bilan Carbone…)
- Endless learner with a collaborative mindset and a good sense of humor.
